Charles Kinyua Muthui is the Senior Programs Officer at DESK. Since 2019 he has supported the Deaf Empowerment Society of Kenya in strengthening its programmatic capacity by working with the DESK management to develop different programs suited to the needs of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Charles holds a Master of Science in Development Studies from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, a Bachelor of Science from Moi University, and a post-graduate diploma from the Marketing Society of Kenya. He has extensive knowledge of humanitarian and development programming in Eastern Africa, has working experience in Somalia, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Kenya, and has a deep understanding of the operating context. In his various roles, he has worked as a program development consultant and also in grant writing. He has accumulated working experience with UN bodies (UNHCR, UNICEF, UNDP, UNOCHA, FAO, WFP, IOM), Qatar Fund for Development, Red Cross Movement, GIZ, and DANIDA, Diakonia as an employee and consultant. His range of experience is in Program Development, Proposal Development, and project/donor reporting among others.
