Jacob Ireri, a truly innovative social justice leader, is the Founder and CEO of the Deaf Empowerment Society of Kenya (DESK), responsible for the strategic direction, vision, growth, and performance of the organization.
As a seasoned professional with more than 15 years of disability and inclusion experience, he is known for driving growth, maximizing operational excellence, and delivering exceptional performance.
He most recently served as the Chief of Party where he led the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of a USAID-funded PWDs Livelihood Development Project. Before that, Jacob acted as the Senior Technical Advisor to the Global Connection International where he’s responsible for INGO’s largest geographic region managing $1B in revenue. Jacob also worked with UN agencies, UKAID, Nippon in a variety of capacities- SRHR, Gender, Inclusive education, INGOs capacity strengthening, PWDs livelihood development, and Mainstreaming - as an employee and a Consultant.
Jacob holds an MA in International Development and a BA degree in International Education and Development from Gallaudet University, Washington DC, USA. Jacob is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in International Relations in Washington DC.
