Mercy Jeremy

Program Manager

Mercy is the Program Manager of the Deaf Empowerment Society of Kenya (DESK), responsible for the overall management of DESK’S programs and projects as well as DESK’s Communication and Public Relations activities.

She has a comprehensive set of skills that she gathered from her 9+ years of experience working as an employee and a research consultant with local and international non-governmental organisations among them Interpeace, Transparency International, IRC, KNCHR, KAIH, Sightsavers, OSIEA Kenya, GLOCEPS, CCRBT, and World Vision. Mercy has extensive skills in Programs  Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Communications and Public Relations, Strategic Management, Conflict Resolution, and Mediation, Coordination and Preparation of Project Surveys, Gender Affairs, and Mainstreaming, Formulation, Assessment, and Implementation of Public Policies, Research and Data Management, Human Resource Management as well as cultivating and maintaining relationships among various partners, donors, and stakeholders within and outside projects. She also has a strong grasp of the disability landscape having previously worked with organisations serving multiple disabilities.

Mercy is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Leadership and Organisation Management in International Context at the University of Lancaster in the UK. She holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Peace and Conflict Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Dar-es-Salaam.
