Mr. Jacob Ireri

Mr. Jacob Ireri

CEO / Secretary to the Board

Answerable to the Board, Jacob Ireri works closely with DESK’S Board of Directors to develop strategies to grow fundraising, and advocate for the rights of Deaf and Hard of Hearing persons, and develop and monitor high quality and context-specific programs. Jacob ensures effective implementation of strategies and policies, drives implementation, and reports on results.

As a seasoned professional with more than 15 years of disability and inclusion experience, he is known for driving growth,  maximizing operational excellence, and delivering exceptional performance.

He most recently served as the Chief of Party where he led the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of a USAID-funded PWDs Livelihood Development Project. Before that, Jacob acted as the Senior Technical Advisor to the Global Connection International where he’s responsible for INGO’s largest geographic region managing $1B in revenue. Jacob also worked with UN agencies, UKAID, Nippon, World Federation of the Deaf in a variety of capacities- SRHR, Gender, Inclusive education, INGOs capacity strengthening, PWDs livelihood development, and Mainstreaming Consultants.

Jacob holds an MA in International Development and a bachelor of arts in International Education and Development from Gallaudet University, Washington DC, USA. Jacob is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in International Relations in Washington DC.
