Communication is the foundation of inclusion. At DESK, we work to dismantle the systemic barriers that isolate the Deaf community by promoting Kenyan Sign Language (KSL) as a vital national language. In alignment with the Constitution of Kenya, which recognizes KSL as an official language, we strive to bring the hearing and Deaf communities closer together to create a society where communication flows freely and every citizen can participate in national life.

Breaking the Communication Barrier
Our awareness programs are designed to transform how society perceives and interacts with the Deaf community. We achieve this through:
- KSL Training & Certification: We provide high-quality Sign Language instruction for families, service providers, and the general public to ensure that Deaf individuals can access services in their primary language.
- Community Sensitization: We host awareness campaigns across Kenya to challenge stigmas and promote an understanding of Deaf culture, ensuring that “inclusion” is a lived reality in our neighborhoods and public spaces.
- InclusivePath Consulting: Through our specialized consulting wing, we offer professional KSL training and disability-inclusive audits for organizations. We help the private and public sectors transition from basic compliance to becoming truly accessible environments for Deaf employees and clients.
A Bridge to Opportunity
By fostering a signing society, we ensure that the Deaf and Hard of Hearing are no longer spectators in their own country. Whether in a hospital, a courtroom, or a corporate office, our mission is to ensure that KSL is respected and utilized as a key to unlocking human potential and social justice.
