Purity Kagendo

Office Administrator / Finance Assistant

Purity Kagendo is the Office Administrator at the Deaf Empowerment Society of Kenya (DESK), where she serves as the backbone of the organization’s daily operations. With a focus on efficiency and excellence, Purity ensures that DESK’s mission is supported by robust administrative and financial structures.
Operational & Financial Oversight
Purity coordinates all critical office tasks and responsibilities, ensuring a seamless flow of communication across DESK’s various departments. Her role includes:
  • Administrative Programming: Directing the organization's administrative schedules and project timelines to ensure program goals are met.
  • Financial Coordination: Managing the organization's finances with a high level of accountability, supporting the board's commitment to transparency and honesty.
  • Operations Management: Streamlining internal processes to maximize the impact of DESK’s nationwide advocacy and service delivery.
Professional Background & Expertise
Purity brings over 7 years of experience in training, financial management, and administration to the team.
  • Educational Foundation: Prior to joining DESK, she served as an ECD Instructor in Nairobi, bringing a deep understanding of developmental needs to the office environment.
  • Specialized Skills: She holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Development from the Foundation College Institute with specialized certifications in Early Grade Reading, ICT, and Mathematics.

At DESK, Purity’s diverse background allows her to manage complex organizational needs with a detail-oriented approach. Her leadership in the head office ensures that the Deaf Empowerment Society of Kenya remains a fast-paced, innovative leader in disability rights, providing a stable foundation for the empowerment of the Deaf community
